If you have any questions, e-mail me or if you're lucky, you can ICQ me at 11140088. UCL Info Venue Info The LAN will be held at the Students' Association Building at the University of Canterbury. The UCSA is at 90 Ilam road and for those of you who don't know where that is, I should have a map of some description soon. It will start at around 4-5pm on Friday 16th July and if everything goes to plan, will finish around lunchtime on Sunday. I have yet to sort out if it will be at the ballroom downstairs or the carpeted Shelly Common room upstairs. I'll put up notices closer to the time. There are plenty of plugs around the place but not many power boxes or extension cords, so if anyone has any, bring them. Also try and bring headphones as well.
Games and Network Info
Basically any multiplayer game can be cranked up. There will be dedicated servers on and off throughout UCL of Tribes, Quake, Quakeworld, Quake 3 or any requests. 30 people on a low-ping Quake 2 game is really kick-arse. I've got one dedicated server so far, apart from the DHCP and masquerading linux box and that's a Celery 300A overclocked to 450MHz, 64 megs ram and I guess I'll have to invest in a 100 meg card in the near future; the 10 meg one just doesn't cut the mustard. If anyone else can provide any servers, that'll be real helpful. |
